About our Kathak lessons
Kathak is a beautiful story-telling dance form that is an amalgamation of Hindu and Muslim cultures. Some consider it to be the highest form of yoga, a union between the mind, body and soul.
Our classes are taught by senior students of Padmashree Pratap Pawar who is a legend, and PadmaVibhushan Birju Maharaj's first gandabandhan disciple. Guru Pratap Pawar provides overall guidance and visits for workshops.
We teach Birju Maharaj ji's style i.e. Lucknow gharana, which you might be familiar with from watching Madhuri Dixit in Devdas, for example
